For the 8km Mother’s Day Classic run, an especially designed training program has been created to help you reach your personal goals. The Intermediate to Advanced training program is aimed at those who are already exercising three or more times per week. It can be followed for any race up to 10km, commencing 10 weeks prior to race day.
The Mother’s Day Classic is the perfect opportunity to get moving as well as support a great cause. For the 4km walk and run, it’s important to train so you can feel and achieve your best on race day. This introductory six-week training program is aimed at beginners… we all have to start somewhere!
In order to adequately train for a race, time needs to be set aside throughout your week to complete the training your race requires. As a parent, preparing for an event poses a whole new set of challenges, but don’t be deterred as I know it can be done. And guess what training can also be fun!
The Women in Super Mother’s Day Classic’s regional events are crucial to helping the MDC achieve the vast funds we raise each year for breast cancer research. They also embody everything that’s great about the MDC; they are run by volunteers, involve the entire community, and represent a group of people united by a common goal.
We are pleased to introduce our new TVC for 2017.
October 6 2016 - Women in Super Mother's Day Classic kick-started Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a donation of $3 million to the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) to fund key breast cancer research projects taking the total funds raised from the event to a staggering $30.4 million.
