The Course

Meet at Peace Park, North Adelaide. You will be guided to the start on War Memorial Drive (road will be closed).

The Course follows the scenic War Memorial Drive to Bundeys Road and then you will be diverted down to the Linear Park Route. 7.3km participants will be diverted through the Botanic Gardens before returning to the Linear Route to complete their run. The 4.6km participants remain on the northern Linear Path route. Both routes finish at Peace Park.

Being involved and completing the Mother’s Day Classic is a challenging and rewarding experience which is further enhanced with a little preparation - for both the walking and running events. Our community training partner, parkrun, provide the perfect opportunity to get some kilometres in your legs before the big day. They organise free, weekly, 5km times all over Australia. You find one near you here.

Results will be available here on the Mother’s Day Classic website from Tuesday 16 May 2017. Remember, only runners will be timed.

Event day

Assembly area

Is located on Peace Park (Corner War Memorial Drive and Sir Edwin Smith Avenue)

Information marquees

The information marquees are located at various sites throughout the assembly area. We also have “ask me” volunteers roving around the assembly area. Please ask these volunteers or go to the information marquees if you are unsure of anything.

Tribute wall

Tribute cards can be attached to your top in support or memory of a loved one touched by breast cancer. Tribute cards can be downloaded from the website, requested via the registration process or collected on the day from the information marquee. A special Tribute Wall will be located at the assembly area. Participants can choose to pin their tribute cards to the wall after their run or walk.

Baggage Storage

There is a baggage storage marquee on site near the start (watch out for the sign) where you can leave your clothing. Please do not leave any valuables in the storage area as we will not be responsible for valuable goods lost or stolen. You can place your bikes on the fence with security locks.

First aid

First aid will be available on site (near the finish) and at each water station.

Water stations

Water stops will be at the start/finish and at two other sites along the route.

The toilets are on Peace Park near the start and the finish. Other toilets are available at Jolley’s Boat House and the Botanic Gardens.

Meeting places

Be sure you arrange a clear meeting place for your family or team. We recommend meeting in the assembly area. The start or finish line will be very crowded and a difficult meeting place.

A number of delegates, celebrities and sponsors will be giving brief talks on the main stage. The main stage will also be used for the warm-up aerobics. There will also be entertainment and spot prizes.
