Results will be available here on the Mother’s Day Classic website from Monday 15 May 2017. Remember, only runners will be timed.

Event day

Assembly area

The assembly area is located at Eastern Beach Reserve, Waterfront Geelong.

Information marquees

The information marquee is located in the assembly area. Please ask the volunteers or go to the information marquees if you are unsure of anything.

Tribute wall

Tribute cards can be attached to your top in support or memory of a loved one touched by breast cancer. Tribute cards can be downloaded from the website, requested via the registration process or collected on day from the information marquee. A special Tribute Wall will be located at the assembly area. Participants can choose to pin their tribute cards to the wall after their run or walk.

Cloak Room (bag drop)

Clothing and bags may be left in the bag storage area located on Eastern Beach Reserve adjacent the finish line. Please use the tear off strip from your race number to attach to your backpack or clothing bag.

Please do not place valuables in the cloak room as we cannot accept responsibility for valuables lost or stolen. Bikes cannot be placed in cloak room.

First aid

First aid stations will be located:

  • At the water point on the course, on Eastern park Circuit, opposite the East Geelong Golf Club
  • Adjacent to the finish line on Eastern Beach reserve

If you require medical assistance while out on the course, please notify the nearest course marshal and they will contact the appropriate personnel to assist you.

Water stations

Water stations will be located at the following points:

  • 4km course: 2.5km point – opposite the East Geelong Golf Club
  • 8km course: 3.6km and 6.2km points – opposite the East Geelong Golf Club
  • Adjacent to the finish line

Toilets

The toilets are located at the Geelong Life Saving Club building adjacent to The Boathouse Restaurant. There will also be toilets in the assembly area.

Baby change

There will be a baby change and feed marquee in the main assembly area.

Meeting places

Be sure you arrange a clear meeting place for your family or team. We recommend meeting in the assembly area. The start line will be very crowded and a difficult meeting place.

Entertainment

The Mother’s Day Classic includes lots of extra activities for kids and adults. These include warm-up aerobics, a food court, entertainment plus a kid’s activity area with a petting farm and face painting.

A number of delegates, celebrities and sponsors will be appearing / presenting on the main stage. The main stage will also be used for the memorial minute of silence, warm-up aerobics and team presentations.

Food

At the food court in the assembly area you will find a selection of food, coffee and drinks to enjoy including a Mother’s Day Classic BBQ.

All participants receive a 2017 medallion.

  • Trophy awarded to fastest female in the 8km run 
  • Trophy awarded to fastest male in the 8km run 
  • Trophy for the largest school team
  • Trophy for the largest corporate team
  • Trophy for the largest 'Community Group and Clubs' team
  • Trophy for the largest 'Gym/Personal Fitness/ Wellbeing' team
  • Trophy for the largest 'Family and Friends' team
  • Trophy for the largest Tertiary team from Victoria trophy
  • Trophy for the largest Government Department/Agency team 
  • Certificate awarded to the best dressed competitor 

Age category medals: mailed after the event 4km and 8km runs winners for each age category. Age categories - U15, U18, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+.

Runner's please note: Your results will be produced by net time. The timing tag attached to your race bib will record your official time from when you cross the start line until you cross the finish line. However, trophies will be awarded to the first three males and females in each event based on gun time. So, if you feel you have a chance of placing, please run in the first wave of your chosen distance.
