The 4km course heads north from Pratten Park for a short distance before looping around and heading south down to Ventura Road at Mermaid Beach; then returning northbound to Pratten Park.

Being involved and completing the Mother’s Day Classic is a challenging and rewarding experience which is further enhanced with a little preparation - for both the walking and running events. Our community training partner, parkrun, provide the perfect opportunity to get some kilometres in your legs before the big day. They organise free, weekly, 5km times all over Australia. You find one near you here.

Is located at the southern end of Pratten Park, Broadbeach on the Gold Coast.
The information boards and marquee are located near the start line. Please ask these volunteers or go to the information boards or marquee if you are unsure of anything.
Tribute cards can be attached to your top in support or memory of a loved one touched by breast cancer. Tribute cards can be downloaded from the website, requested via the registration process or collected at the event from the information marquee. A special Tribute Wall will be located at the assembly area. Participants can choose to pin their tribute cards to the wall after their run or walk.
A gear tent will be located next to the registration tent. We do not accept responsibility for lost or stolen items, so please do not put any valuables into storage. You will need your event bib number to collect your items after you have finished your event.
For safety reasons, no bikes/skateboards/rollerblades/scooters/dogs are allowed on course.
Prams are permitted.
Medical personnel will be at the finish line and on the course. Please notify a marshal or event personnel if you experience any difficulties or see another participant having trouble finishing the walk or run.
Three drink stations will be positioned along the Mother’s Day Classic course. The 4km walkers and runners will have two opportunities to collect water, and the 8km runners and walkers will have four opportunities to collect water.
A council toilet block is located near the start line and additional portable toilets will be positioned around the council toilet block.
Be sure you arrange a clear meeting place for your family or team. We recommend meeting in the assembly area. The start line will be very crowded and a difficult meeting place.
The Mother’s Day Classic includes lots of extra activities for kids and adults. These include warm up aerobics, performers, food stands, free massage, entertainment plus a kids activity area with face painting.
The start line stage will be used for the memorial minute silence and warm-up aerobics.
Presentations will commence on the main stage in the event venue at approximately 9.00am or when the last participant has crossed the finish line.
Coffee carts and a sausage sizzle will be on offer, plus more!
All participants receive a 2017 medallion.
Mailed after the event 4km and 8km runs winners for each age category. Age categories - U15, U18, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+.
Runner's please note: Your results will be produced by net time. The timing tag attached to your race bib will record your official time from when you cross the start line until you cross the finish line. However, trophies will be awarded to the first male and female in each running event based on gun time. So, if you feel you have a chance of placing, please start towards the front.
