The Forster event offers a 2km & 5km walk and a 5km run.

If you can not participate, you can come along and support all walkers and runners and join in the entertainment and activity taking place around the course!

Race packs, race numbers & timing

This event has electronic timing for runners.

The timing chips will be provided to participants on the day.

The Course

The course will start and finish in John Holland Park, just under the bridge.

Runners will take off first followed by the walkers and prams and wheel chairs.

Starting from John Holland Park, pass the Marina around the headland to the Surf Club, then head up North Street onto the Bicentennial Track, turning near the tanks.

The 2km walkers will be walking from John Holland Park, over the bridge to John Wright Park then back again. 

There will be marshals along the way to provide direction and support where needed.


A Certificate of Participation will be available here on the Mother’s Day Classic website from Tuesday 16 May, 2017 for you to download and print!

Regional events using electronic timing to time runners will have their results available here from Tuesday 16 May, 2017. 

Event day

There will be an official welcome, a minute silence to remember those lost to breast cancer.  

A group warm up activity will be conducted and a run down of the course.

Please note dogs are not permitted at this event.


Tribute cards

Remember to fill in a tribute card to wear on the day in memory of a loved one or with words of encouragement to someone currently undergoing treatment. Create your tribute card here.


There will be coffee and a sausage sizzle. Also stalls selling flowers, pink cupcakes and other pink items.

Getting there

Parking is not available in the park, though parking is available in surrounding streets.

There will be prizes for:

  • Lucky draws and raffle

Whilst we endeavour to provide all participants with a 2017 medallion, which cleverly converts to a key ring and lanyard, they are subject to availability.
