I have been fundraising for the Mother’s Day Classic for years, why can’t I set up my fundraising page before I register to participate?
We are streamlining the fundraising process and making it easier for everyone to start fundraising by sending an email to everyone who registers for a walk or run with their fundraising URLs. All you have to do is register online. This new way means one less form for you to fill in.
Can my 8 year old child get a fundraising page online?
Mother’s Day Classic fundraisers must be 18 years old or older to be eligible for an online fundraising page. We recommend that if you are under 18 and want to raise extra funds for breast cancer research you join up with your mum or dad on their fundraising form and with their help you can go and ask your friends and school teachers etc to sponsor you and your parent or guardian.
The online fundraising form is easy to forward on and in the personal statement you can fill in information that together as a family you are walking or running in the Mother’s Day Classic and raising funds for breast cancer research.
Can I set up a team fundraising page?
We don’t have online team fundraising pages. The idea is that individuals in a team can all use their own fundraising page to send out to their friends and ask for donations. Then when fundraising closes (on 18 May) we will add up the team total.
You just need to make sure that you select your team name when you register online. Then your team name will automatically be added to your individual fundraising page.
By the way - If you’re the first person in your team to register – don’t forget that you need to create your own team during online registration process. Then everyone after that just needs to select the team name from the drop down box.
I didn’t register as part of a team and now I want to join, what do I do?
Email administration@mothersdayclassic.com.au with your full name, the city event you have registered for (ie: Melbourne) and team name. Please be patient though as this is a manual process so you may not hear back from us immediately but we will do our best to add you to your team and will contact you as soon as we can.
How do I know when someone sponsors me?
You will be sent a confirmation email when someone sponsors you online. It will say who has sponsored you and how much they have donated.
I have quite a large fundraising amount, how come I am not showing on the list of top fundraisers?
We are only able to show the top 40 fundraisers across Australia. Keep up the great work and you’ll appear in the top 40!
Even if you’re not listed in the top 40 – your friends can still find you on the Mother’s Day Classic website by searching for your name in the yellow fundraising box on the home page.
Do people that sponsor me receive a receipt?
Yes. They will be sent an email with their tax invoice. All amounts of $2 and over are tax deductible.
If tax invoices are not received please email administration@mothersdayclassic.com.au so they can be re-issued. In the email please provide the name of the person donating, the amount donated and to whom the donation was to.
Their donation to you will appear as ‘Women in Super Melbourne’ on their credit card statement.
If people have sponsored you with a cheque or cash you can enter that into our paper fundraising form (insert link) and then they can receive tax receipts if their donation is over $2. These receipts may not be issued until after fundraising closes on 18 May.
My friend does not have a credit card and is therefore unable to sponsor me online, so what do I do if I am given cheques or cash for my fundraising?
You can use our paper fundraising form. Go to the fundraising page on our website and look under the title ‘Fundraising recourses’ for the form (link directly). The form is then sent to the NBCF for processing and receipts will be issued. Please allow time for processing and receipts may not be issued until after fundraising closes on 18 May 2012.
Will the amount I raise from cheques or cash be added to my online fundraising figure? And can this be seen online?
Your cheques/cash and online figures will be added together to form your final total. We will do this when fundraising closes on 18 May.
As we can only process this figures when fundraising closes we won’t be able to show your total cheque/cash and online fundraising figure on our website. But don’t worry it will still be added together for the grand total for those who may be in the running for the highest individual fundraiser in each state.
My company wants to financially match my online amount, how can I get evidence of my final fundraising figure?
When fundraising has closed (18 May) please email us and tell us how much you have raised and that you require a letter to confirm your final fundraising amount so that your company can match the figure. We will then forward this information to NBCF who will send you a Fundraising Dollar Matching Letter.
Please email the following information to administration@mothersdayclassic.com.au:
- proof of your fundraising e.g. send us the URL to your fundraising page and/or a copy of your paper fundraising form.
- Your name and postal address
