Remember EVERY dollar you raise goes to the National Breast Cancer Foundation so every little effort goes a long way.
How quickly do treats disappear in your office or school? Charge $1 a treat and watch the coins roll in.
Even easier...name and shame those potty mouths with a $2 curse penalty.
Another easy way to engage your colleagues and friends in your fundraising. Ask colleagues to wear pink to work and collect $2. This also works well with a morning or afternoon tea. Print out some graphics like a collection box to promote it around your office or school.
Do the morning coffee run...or lunch run for $5. Pick up a friend's dry cleaning for $10. Wash the neighbour's car for $20. There's lots of little jobs you do in return for a kind donation.
Probably the most popular of fundraising ideas, this needs no introduction - and who doesn't love cake! To make things even easier, we've got MDC bunting to decorate your bake sale. We've also got price labels, graphics, collections boxes and more to help your morning tea go with a swing. Simply print off and promote your event.
Kill two birds with one stone by having a clear out AND raising some money. Invite your friends to bring along their unwanted tops, skirts, dresses, bags, shoes etc...charge $5, $10 an item and create your own mini op shop. Print out our MDC price tags and collection box below and get shopping.
Why not organise a casual morning or afternoon tea at your work place to get your colleagues on board and encourage them to donate!
A lunch is a great way to socialise, share a delicious meal with your friends and raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research.
Trivia nights are everyone’s favourite! Invite all your friends and family, or host a trivia afternoon at your workplace and ask for donations!
Do you have a birthday or a wedding anniversary coming up? Then this is the perfect opportunity to start your fundraiser! Simply ask your friends and family for donations in lieu of your occasion, and make your special day worthwhile.
Celebrate the end of summer with an afternoon BBQ and ask everyone who comes along to support your fundraising efforts, because who doesn’t love a good sausage sizzle!
Dollar matching is a great way to double your fundraising! All you have to do is ask your boss (or even a local business) to dollar match what you’ve raised. Your employer will probably have an annual budget for donations, and every donation over $2 is deductible. Even if the company doesn’t dollar match, you may have inspired them to give you a personal donation.
You’ve decided to fundraise - now it’s time to get your friends, family and colleagues on board to help organise your fundraiser! Don’t be scared to ask, you are going to be surprised how many people will want to help!
To kick off your fundraising, simply set up your own fundraising page here
For any assistance in registering for a Mother’s Day Classic event please contact your local event manager from the list here.
There are three steps to create a powerful and meaningful fundraising page:
1. Upload a page profile photo – let your supporters know who you are!
2. Share your story -add a story about why you’re fundraising. Tell your friends and family why breast cancer research is important to you, and let them know how you’ll be challenging yourself physically – whether it’s your first Mother’s Day Classic or your tenth!
3. Set your goal - change your fundraising goal to let your friends and family know how much you want to raise for breast cancer research!
We’ve done the research – did you know your friends and family are more likely to make a donation to your page if you back yourself? Simply make a donation to your own page to kick start your fundraising and give others a benchmark to meet!
You can start with $50 and encourage your friends and family to match that amount. With $50, the National Breast Cancer Foundation could help fund a cutting edge project that combines boosted white blood cells with a vaccine so the immune system can recognise and kill cancer.
We know that it can be difficult asking people to sponsor you, which is why we’re here to tell you exactly how important each donation is, and what NBCF can do with the valuable funds you raise.
If you are raising extra funds by hosting a fundraising event, such as a sausage sizzle, bake-off or school event, then you may be asked by your workplace or local council for a fundraising letter of authority.
Please contact us and we would be more than happy to provide this –firstname.lastname@example.org – it doesn’t take long and it’s worth it!
It is important that you have your own Public Liability Insurance, or check if the venue of your fundraiser event allows you to use their insurance, as your fundraiser won’t be covered by Mother’s Day Classic or NBCF’s insurance.
All donations over $2 are tax deductible, but you can only provide a tax deductible receipt to someone who makes a cash donation. You cannot provide a tax deductible receipt for donations made to a raffle, auction or to someone who provides goods, a service or general cash for sponsorship.
Online donations will be automatically receipted to the email address provided when the donation is made.
Simply share your page on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, on LinkedIn, by SMS or by email and encourage your friends and family to donate. And don’t be scared – share it with everyone you know! You’ll be surprised how many people will support you.
Use our #MDC2017 and #WalkAllOverBreastCancer hashtags and share your images on our social media!
We’d love to hear and share your fundraising successes, so send in your ideas to email@example.com or let us know on Facebook.

More social media share tiles can be found on the Help us spread the word page.
Download the MDC email signature. Make sure to link this tile back to the MDC homepage!
Did you know you can hold a fundraising event, and pay the funds you raise straight on to your page? Hosting an event (big or small!) is a great way to raise funds, as well as engage your friends and family with an amazing cause. And the best part is each dollar you raise, even if you’re collecting cash, can be added to your fundraising page by downloading your offline pledge form from the right hand side of your fundraising page on everydayhero.
It is very important to always thank the generous people who have donated to you. Make it as personal as you can whether it be a big or small donation, every dollar will help the National Breast Cancer Foundation fund vital breast cancer research, and work towards zero deaths from breast cancer by 2030.
