My three children and I participated in the 4km walk in Sydney. We lost my mother on 15 April 2010 after an amazing 23-year battle with breast cancer, and participating in the Mother's Day Classic was one way in which we were able to celebrate her life and fighting spirit. Each of us made our own tribute to wear on our backs -- an important way to honor what she meant to us individually. Without the advance of breast cancer research, mom would not have had all of the treatments that allowed her to live with cancer for 23 years...so we will keep participating in the MDC to help our generations and future generations in the fight.
