Four years ago my two daughters and I did inaugural mothers day race in Perth and loved it so we did it the next year. Then both daughters transferred to Uni in Melbourne. For the last two years I have flown over to Melbourne to run the race with my daughters. It is something which my daughters and I share and even though we live in different states we still bond over race by comparing training etc. This year my one daughter was on her 6th course of anti-biotics but still did race with me. (got docs permission first.) My other daughter was very sick many years with a brain virus and was told she may be in a wheel chair for the rest of her life. As a mother, you cannot even begin to understand how happy I am when we stand at the start line to run a race, who cares if our times were way slower this year, we are just so happy we are healthy enough to compete in events such as these.
This is now a FAMILY TRADITION and we plan on doing next year again. What a wonderful job you do, raising money for such a good cause. I saw some brave ladies suffering from cancer competing in walks and runs on the day. What an inspiration they are.
Thank you for helping make my mothers day so special the last four years.
