The Perth course is a nice flat course that circuits Riverside Drive between Barrack Street and the Causeway. A single loop of the course is 4km in length. Those entered into the 8km events will be required to do two laps of the course.

Minute of Silence:
A minute of silence will be held prior to the walk/run. For those hoping to take part in this memorable moment, please look out for the event schedule which is released closer to the event date.
A moment to honour and recognise a special group of people. Those touched by breast cancer – survivors, friends and family. A moment not to be missed – come one, come all. This experience will take place at the beginning of the walk. If you are a runner, please feel free to come down and share in this moment and provide your support.
What to bring
To ensure you have the best possible experience read through our checklist of suggested things to bring on the day!
– Sunscreen/ hat
– Rain jacket/umbrella
– Comfortable running or walking gear
– Coins and/or EFTPOS card for on the day activities, fundraising activities and to purchase event merchandise
– Your race bib (or pick it up on the day)
– Water bottle
– Your mobile phone (Fully charged so you can capture all those #MDC2020 memories!)
Assembly area The Mother’s Day Classic assembly area is located on Supreme Court Gardens.
Tribute wall Tribute cards can be downloaded here. A special Tribute Wall will be located at the event. Participants can choose to pin their tribute cards to the wall after their run or walk.
Baggage storage will be located within the assembly area in Supreme Court Gardens. Participants will be able to store outer clothing during the event and collect once they have finished. Please use the tear off strip from your race number to attach to your backpack or clothing bag. Please do not place valuables in clothing storage as we cannot accept responsibility for valuables lost or stolen.
First Aid A first aid station will be located at the finish line on Supreme Courts Gardens for those requiring emergency medical assistance. If you require medical assistance whilst out on the course, please notify the nearest course marshal and they will contact the appropriate personnel to assist.
Water Stations Water will be provided at drink stations located around the course and near the finish line on Supreme Court Gardens.
Toilets will be located within the assembly area on Supreme Court Gardens.
Be sure you arrange a clear meeting place for your family or team. We recommend meeting in the assembly area. The start or finish line will be very crowded and a difficult meeting place.
On the day entertainment & activities
Main stage A number of delegates, celebrities and sponsors will be giving brief talks on the main stage. The main stage will also be used for the warm-up aerobics. There will also be entertainment and spot prizes and a band to wrap up the day just prior to prize and trophy presentations.
The Mother’s Day Classic includes lots of extra activities for families, including face painting, colouring in & paint spinning, hoola hooping, giant lawn games & basketball games!
On the day we will have a variety of food vendors inducing coffee.
Getting there & road closures
Parking Free street parking may be available on streets near to Supreme Court Gardens. Please be advised that any vehicle parking on Riverside Drive or Victoria Avenue between 12:00am Sunday 10 May and 12:00pm Sunday 10 May risk being towed away as the streets must be clear to conduct the event. Additionally, parking on City of Perth reserves without an authorised permit is strictly prohibited. Non-commercial vehicles found parked on City of Perth reserves during the Mother’s Day Classic may incur a parking fine.
Bike racks are located at the City of Perth Point Fraser car park, and the Convention Centre train station is approximately 1.0 km from Langley Park.
There are also buses and ferries servicing the City. For more information, visit the Transperth website http://www.transperth.wa.gov.au. NB: Please remember to check your transport options carefully as services are limited early Sunday mornings.
Full road closures will be in place along Riverside Drive between the Causeway and Barrack Street from Victoria Avenue between Riverside Drive and Terrace Road and Plain Street between Riverside Drive and Terrace Road from 6:00am on the morning of the event. Please plan your route carefully and allow plenty of time to access the area if driving and please ensure you do not park on the roads that are closed for the event.

The placegetter presentation ceremony will be taking place on the main stage at 9.05am. Team trophies will be awarded on the main stage at 10.05am.
AGE CATEGORY MEDALS
Mailed after the event 4km and 8km runs winners for each age category. Age categories – U15, U18, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+.
Runner’s please note: Your results will be produced by net time. The timing tag attached to your race bib will record your official time from when you cross the start line until you cross the finish line. However, trophies will be awarded to the first three males and females in each event based on gun time. So, if you feel you have a chance of placing, please run in the first wave of your chosen distance.
