Start facing south on Macquarie Street, prior to the Martin Place pedestrian crossing, and head south to Prince Albert Road, continuing onto College Street. Prior to William Street, participants will make a u-turn and walk/run back along College Street to Art Gallery Road. Continue along Mrs Macquaries Road to Mrs Macquaries Chair, and loop back to The Domain.
4km participants will turn right onto Central Avenue (opposite the Robbie Burns statue) towards the finish line. 8km participants will continue towards Macquarie Street, turning right prior to St James Road to complete a second lap of the course. 7km walk participants will turn around at St Mary’s Road and continue back along Art Gallery Road to complete a second lap of the course.
This course is measured using a GPS unit. The course is not a certified course.

Minute of Silence:
A minute of silence will be held prior to the walk/run. For those hoping to take part in this memorable moment, please look out for the event schedule which is released closer to the event date.
A moment to honour and recognise a special group of people. Those touched by breast cancer – survivors, friends and family. A moment not to be missed – come one, come all. This experience will take place at the beginning of the walk. If you are a runner, please feel free to come down and share in this moment and provide your support.

Tribute wall Tribute cards can be downloaded here. A special Tribute Wall will be located at the event. Participants can choose to pin their tribute cards to the wall after their run or walk.
Tribute tunnel Tribute tunnel on the course, showing beautiful images of those who inspire some of our participants to fundraise or take part in the Mother’s Day Classic.
Baggage Storage Participant clothing will be placed in separate storage bays during the event. Participants should attach their tear off strip from the bottom of their race number to their backpack or bag, by looping one end of the tag through the hole. Plastic bags will be available at Bag Drop to store your clothing, but please try to bring your own, already labelled, to speed up the process.
When you drop off your bag, a volunteer will write the bay number on your race number so you know where to collect your bag from post run/walk. You will need to keep your race number post event as proof to collect your clothing bag.
Please do not leave any valuables in the clothing bags as the Mother’s Day Classic cannot accept responsibility for valuables lost or stolen.
First Aid Medical personnel are located on the course and at the finish area. Please notify a marshal if you have any medical difficulties, and they will call for assistance.
Water Stations Water will be provided on course, at the finish line and in the assembly area.
Toilets Portable toilets will be located in the assembly area, as well as the Domain toilet block.
Be sure you arrange a clear meeting place for your family or team. We recommend meeting in the assembly area. The start or finish line will be very crowded and a difficult meeting place.
On the day entertainment & activities
Main stage A number of delegates, celebrities and sponsors will be giving brief talks on the main stage. The main stage will also be used for the warm-up aerobics. There will also be entertainment and spot prizes.
MyLife MySuper Kid’s Zone
The Mother’s Day Classic includes lots of extra activities for families. These include roving performers, a food court, entertainment plus a children’s activity area with face painting and jumping castles. The Family Activity Area is generously and proudly supported by MyLife, MySuper.
There will be food vendors in the Domain to purchase snacks and coffee throughout the morning.

Age Category medals
Mailed after the event 4km and 8km runs winners for each age category. Age categories – U15, U18, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+.
Runner’s please note: Your results will be produced by net time. The timing tag attached to your race bib will record your official time from when you cross the start line until you cross the finish line. However, trophies will be awarded to the first three males and females in each event based on gun time. So, if you feel you have a chance of placing, please run in the first wave of your chosen distance.
Participants are strongly recommended to travel to the event using public transport. Road closures will make driving and parking within close proximity of the event site difficult.
