QLD - Gold Coast - Broadwater Parklands

Experience the true magic of the Mother's Day Classic with an event village, entertainment, food stalls and more! A race pack will be posted to you with a headscarf, race bib and tribute card to honour loved ones on the day at the tribute wall. You’ll also receive a commemorative medallion, handed over with pride when you cross the finish line.

Where: Fishermans Lawn, Southport

Located just north of the bustling Surfers Paradise, escape to the Broadwater Parklands for a range of fun activities perfect for the whole family. Centrally located and spaning three kilometres along the beautiful Broadwater in Southport, the Parklands not only offer fantastic views of the Surfers Paradise skyline but also offer numerous wide open spaces for enjoyment.

When: Sunday 8th May

Distances: 4km & 8km

Wave Times: 

7.30am: First runner wave

7.50am: Survivor wave

7.55am: First walker wave 

Course information

Centrally located and spaning three kilometres along the beautiful Broadwater in Southport, the Parklands not only offer fantastic views of the Surfers Paradise skyline but also offer numerous wide open spaces for enjoyment.

Look out for the pink Mother's Day Classic flags.

Toilets
Several toilet blocks are located throughout the park, including accessible toilets.

Fundraising 
On the day you'll be able to donate funds via the collection tins or electronically via the SMS donation number (0488 849 632)

First aid
All MDC Local Locations will have a qualified first aid officer on site.

Food & drink
BYO water in reusable bottles, use any available water dispensers at the site, no water stations will be provided.
Please bring your own snacks.
Please support your local food and beverage businesses on your way to the site and/or on your way home.

Getting there and parking

Getting there
To help reduce the risk of transmission of COVID 19 participants will be encouraged to physically distance. So, travel to and from the event by private vehicle is being strongly encouraged.

Parking
Parking available in surrounding streets with limited parking at different locations around the route. Please refer to local maps for specific details.

Public transport
Buses 704, 719, 747 and light rail G:LINK have transport routes which pass near Broadwater Parklands. Please confirm availability and frequency via local public transport providers or apps. If public transport is used participants are reminded to adhere to the COVID safe rules at the time. This includes wearing a mask and socially distancing where possible.
