QLD - Magnetic Island

We are delighted to announce a Mother's Day Classic Local Location at Magnetic Island!
Local locations will be smaller and more informal compared to traditional MDC events, but they will be big on community spirit!

  • 9:00 am

Further information: The event will start and end at Alma Bay. To get there from the ferry terminal, catch the bus from Nelly Bay heading towards Horseshoe Bay.

All events will start at Alma Bay with participants heading north up Armand Way. All participants must adhere to normal road rules.

Public transport:
The event will start and end at Alma Bay. To get there from the ferry terminal, catch the bus from Nelly Bay heading towards Horseshoe Bay.The bus stop is located opposite the Alma Bay parklands.

Parking:
Parking is available in the vacant block opposite the Alma Bay parklands/opposite the Arcadia newsagency.

The Check-in area
Under the marquee in the Alma Bay playground. Lookout for the pink Mother's Day Classic flags.

Toilets
Public toilets are available at the top end of Alma Bay parklands.

Fundraising 
On the day you'll be able to donate funds via the collection tins or electronically via the SMS donation number (0488 849 632)

First aid
All MDC Local Locations will have a qualified first aid officer on site.

Food & drink
Arcadia Newsagency has drinks and snacks. Arcadia Hotel has drinks and meals.

Dogs
All dogs/pets must be on leads.

COVIDSafe statement: This event will be conducted in accordance with all COVIDSafe requirements and practices as determined by the state health department. A COVIDSafe checklist/plan has been completed for this event to ensure the safety of all participants.

MDC Local 

While this year will look a little different, you’ll still be able to dress up, complete your walk/run, honour those touched by breast cancer and enjoy the community spirit on the day. All you need to do is bring along your race pack (which will be delivered to your door beforehand), arrive at your assigned time, use your phone to scan the QR code at your location and complete one or two laps of the course. Don’t forget to share your happy snaps and tag #mdc2021!
