We are delighted to announce a Mother's Day Classic Local Location at Princes Park, Melbourne!
Local locations will be smaller and more informal compared to traditional MDC events, but they will be big on community spirit!
Where: Leonard Street/Royal Parade, Carlton North
Princes Park is a 38.6 hectare (95.4 acre) park in the inner-Melbourne suburb of Carlton North, Victoria which consists of a number of Australian rules football ovals, the bowling green of the Princes Park Carlton Bowls Club Bowls, and a small stretch of parkland. it is also home to the Carlton Football Club. The running track around the perimeter of Princes Park is 3.183 km.

To help reduce the risk of transmission of COVID 19 participants will be encouraged to physically distance. So, travel to and from the event by private vehicle is being strongly encouraged.
Car parking is available in the vicinity either free or at minimal cost.
Buses 505, 546 and Tram 19 have transport routes which pass near Princes Park. Please confirm availability and frequency via local public transport providers or apps. If public transport is used participants are reminded to adhere to the COVID safe rules at the time. This includes wearing a mask and socially distancing where possible.
The Check-in area
Look out for the pink Mother's Day Classic flags.
Signage and information on public toilets in the area will be made available to participants. Two additional toilets will be placed at the village location within the assembly area. Toilet signs can be found at the Village assembly area.
On the day you'll be able to donate funds via the collection tins or electronically via the SMS donation number (0488 849 632)
All MDC Local Locations will have a qualified first aid officer on site. First aid will be located at the location event arrival site.
Food & drink
BYO water in reusable bottles, use any available water dispensers at the site, no water stations will be provided.
Please bring your own snacks and support your local food and beverage businesses on your way to the site and/or on your way home.
All dogs/pets must be on leads.

COVIDSafe statement: This event will be conducted in accordance with all COVIDSafe requirements and practices as determined by the state health department. A COVIDSafe checklist/plan has been completed for this event to ensure the safety of all participants.
While this year will look a little different, you’ll still be able to dress up, complete your walk/run, honour those touched by breast cancer and enjoy the community spirit on the day. All you need to do is bring along your race pack (which will be delivered to your door beforehand), arrive at your assigned time, use your phone to scan the QR code at your location and complete one or two laps of the course. Don’t forget to share your happy snaps and tag #mdc2021!
