Mother’s Day Classic Foundation
Since 1998, the Mother’s Day Classic has raised over $35 million dollars. The Mother’s Day Classic is a nationwide annual fun run and walk, raising funds and awareness for breast cancer research. It delivers a fun, healthy and inspirational community event that brings people together across Australia on Mother’s Day to support and remember those touched by breast cancer.
The Mother’s Day Classic was created and organised by Women in Super (WIS) prior to the establishment of the MDC Foundation. Women in Super continues to support the MDC Foundation and WIS members play an important role organising events around the country.
MDC Foundation is proudly supported by the industry superannuation fund network, breast cancer networks, the National Breast Cancer Foundation and more than 1,000 dedicated volunteers nationwide. The MDC Foundation Ltd raises funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation, a not for profit organisation that supports research into breast cancer prevention and treatment.
About the position
MDC Foundation has a rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced and dynamic CEO keen to make an immediate and lasting impact on breast cancer prevention and awareness. Reporting to the Board, the CEO will continue to drive the Foundation’s vision and strategy, ensuring revenue growth and brand advocacy whilst overseeing the day to day operational activities.
This relationship-focused role is responsible for overseeing current and future fundraising, partnerships, communications, marketing, media, event operations and financial management with a clear understanding of governance and risk frameworks.
Your leadership experience and ability to form connections across a variety of stakeholders will be critical as you will be required to partner with multiple external organisations, government entities, communities, MDC State and Territory Chairs and MDC volunteers – locally and interstate.
To be considered for this role you will be able to demonstrate the following:
-Strong and collaborative leadership skills, ideally with experience in the not-for-profit or community sector.
-Exceptional stakeholder management skills
-Proven ability to manage a team
-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills,
-Previous experience in fundraising and event management
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Tertiary qualifications in a relevant business-related discipline
