We did it!
5am start in 2 degrees and off we set to Melbourne for our first Classic.In pitch darkness we found the registration tent, got our bibs and were all set for the off. Watching the sun come up we remembered all those who we know and love who we have lost to cancer, are undergoing treatment or who have survived. Today was for you.
A quick warm up and we were off on our 8km run - two laps around The Tan. Andersons hill is still a challenge even 23 years after I first ran it. We loved the costumers camaraderie and support and were delighted to hear barks from our support team every 2kms. Jason and Cookie ran between check points to keep up team morale.
A fast finish was never in doubt. The sight of a medal spurred Alice and we up flew to the finish line. We’ll be back next year for sure. Thank you for all your support.
