SUPPORTING Breast Cancer Research
Sunshine on a rainy day
Well we did it!! The weather wasn't on our side but my two sons and my mother in law walked in the Mothers Day Classic!! We crossed the finish line soaked to the bone, but full to the brim with emotion (tears and smiles). Thank you so very much to all that donated!! We felt everyone's love and support. So much money was raised to continue the fight against breast and ovarian cancer. For all those families who have lost their Mums, Sisters and Grandmothers to cancer we were walking for you xxxSupport my efforts in the 2025 Mother's Day Classic!
Inspired by my friend and colleague Sherie Nicole Sherie I am walking in the 2025 Mothers Day Classic and sharing my story to raise money for breast and ovarian cancer research.
In August 2024 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. This photo was taken in October 2024, weeks after my first surgery and two days before chemotherapy, with my last IV infusion on Xmas Eve. Weeks of radiation followed and another surgery to remove thyroid cancer. I am today two weeks post treatment, waiting and hoping for the all clear. It's been tough, working during treatment to support and raise my two boys, while navigating the end of my marriage. I've lost my hair, eyelashes, eyebrows and 15 kilograms. I can honestly say that without the love and support of my family, friends, employer, the boys schools, sports and the wider community I wouldn't be here to tell my story. I have been blown away by the messages of support, gifts, visits, meals, lifts, love and kindness I've been shown in my cancer journey. There is so much goodness in the world and so many amazing people around me. I'm here to tell my story, on the other side of treatment, but too many women have been taken away from their families or are living with untreatable forms of cancer. I see you and I'm here to support you and your loved ones xxxxx
