Supporting Breast Cancer Research
I'm putting my foot down to stop breast cancer in its tracks!
This year will be my 6th year walking in the Mother's Day Classic.
The first 5 years I walked alongside my strong and courageous sister-in-law as she was fighting breast cancer. However, this year I will be walking in memory of her.
In June last year, she lost her fight at the age of 40, leaving behind her 3 young, beautiful boys and husband.
She never let this horrible disease stop her from achieving great things, she was a Mother's Day Classic Ambassador and was so passionate about the cause.
The Mother's Day Classic has been going for 26 years and has raised $44 million for research. This has seen a 5 year survival rate increase from 84% to 92%!
This year, the funds raised will also go towards Ovarian Cancer research as the 5yr survival rate is only at 49%.
