On Sunday 10 May, I'm putting my foot down to save lives.

I’m joining the Mother’s Day Classic to help raise funds and awareness to fight breast and ovarian cancers. I'm joining the Mother's Day Classic to raise funds and awareness for breast and ovarian cancer research,  and this cause is deeply personal to me.

I lead a research laboratory at the Hudson Institute of Medical Research dedicated to understanding and defeating ovarian cancer. Every day in my lab, my team works to uncover why this disease is so hard to treat and to develop new ways to stop it. The Mother's Day Classic helps fund exactly this kind of work,  research that translates into real hope for patients.

Tragically, every day in Australia 63 people are diagnosed and 12 lose their lives to breast or ovarian cancer. That is not a statistic we can accept.
