Supporting Breast and Ovarian Cancer Research
Support our efforts in the 2026 Mother’s Day Classic!
Our team is participating in the Mother's Day Classic, Sunday 10 May!
We will be joined by family and supervised by Russell the Retriever, and Douglas the French Bulldog. Snacks will be involved for humans and canines alike.
Tragically, every day in Australia 63 people diagnosed and 12 lose their lives to breast or ovarian cancer.
Strongly connected to Women in Super and to the broader super industry, the Mother’s Day Classic was founded in 1988 by Mavis Robertson AM, former National Chair of Women in Super, and Louise Davidson AM, who saw an opportunity to create an event in Australia that would raise critical funds for breast and ovarian cancer research while also advocating for women’s health. At the time, superannuation funds were noticing that breast cancer was one of the common reasons for accessing death and disability benefits.
That history gives the event a particular resonance for Mercer and for our industry more broadly. It’s not only a community fundraiser, but a long-standing example of our sector coming together around an issue that matters deeply to the people we serve.
Thank you for supporting our team.
Together the Mother’s Day Classic community has donated...
$48.23 million
Since 1998 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
$2.57 million
Since 2024 to the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation
Thank you to all our Sponsors
