Supporting Breast Cancer Research

I'm putting my foot down to stop breast cancer in its tracks!

Life update from Erin - GoFundMe / Metro FundRaiser

An update from Erin herself.

The Journey this week! It's all go, go, go!

Monday we underwent a small procedure to retrieve eggs to create embryos as an insurance policy for the future! They retrieved only 4 eggs but all 4 survived day one, fingers crossed they all make it through the week and are frozen on Saturday!
Yesterday - was the big day, first cycle of chemotherapy.
I've read up about the treatment, asked others of their experiences and to say I was scared was an understatement.
It was a long day but the nurses at Icon centre were amazing and time flew! Survived the day but over the following days the fun drugs will wear off and it will start hitting!
Learning to ask for help and accept help has always been hard for me, my main priority is to remain as strong and positive for my family as I can.
Jay's team mate, coach and their partners are hosting a fund-raiser for us on Friday 26th April at Metro FC, heaps of items have been donated and I am so keen to pass on my thanks to these people! I think I've been tagged in the event so head to my profile for more information!
My second home, Grosvenor and Collins Street practice are holding a Pop up market on Saturday 18th May, Baked Goods, Craft and Trash and Treasure! Come a long and see that their talents go beyond being doctors!
And finally my work mummy has created a go fund me page to help us with the ongoing costs of treatment and towards the surgery I need to have once the chemotherapy is over and for the potential IVF treatment we might need to do! I am swallowing my pride and sharing the link for this one. I have private health insurance but it doesn't cover everything and unfortunately doesn't cover much. I was saving up for a wedding this year but so far it's just been spent on treatment...
If you can help me and my family out, this is my one and only pitch, I would love to return the favour one day, hopefully in different circumstances!

Check yo boobs! ❤️

Emi's first RunClub

A new week and a big week for Erin as she harvests hopefully the newest member of the Hudson clan, another hurricane to join Emi in the future. With Chemo starting later this week, we are all sending the vibes to her.

Sunday saw a smaller 'trot' as Erin had her final trigger shot in prep for harvest, in true Erin sprit she heroed on pushing a pram, Emi didn't enjoy the rain but LOVED the post run cookie and 'coffee'. It seems to be our favourite part too. :P

Easter Egg Hunt but the fertility kind

Happy Easter - We hope you had the most amazing Easter Break with Fam and Friends.

Erin went egg hunting using a different method - camping with her little fam, whilst prepping another team member to join the Hudson fam at a later date. Jay has been injecting Erin with hormones ready for an egg harvest before starting chemo soon. Not your typical Easter Egg hunt but will be worth it when Emi has a sibling to hurricane around with.

Erin, Erika, Brooke and Danielle ran the Mothers Day Classic Course Track on the Monday and as always the coffee afterwards is the best part, come and join our little run club very much a 'trot' ;)

Run the Bridge 24

Earlier this year, we (pictured Emi the cutie was at the finish for the girls - Erika, Wheezy, Danielle, Brooke and Erin) RAN THE BRIDGE. The whole 10km. We complained alot, the best part was doing it together knowing anything can be achieved with a good group and a postive mindset.

Erin had breast cancer here unknowling and smashed a PB.

Join our Mothers Day Classic Army - If 6km seems like heaps, do the 4km. If 4km seems unachievable, walk don't run. No matter how you get it done. Come join us! <3

For Erin <3

Our friend Erin 🩷 -

"I'm so sorry, it's Cancer.

It's not something you ever want to hear or think you'll hear but yet here I am, only weeks after getting engaged and just weeks off my 35th birthday, this is my reality.
Triple Positive Breast cancer with lymph node involvement to be exact.
My initial reaction was expecting the worst, thinking it's spread, it's in my lungs, my bowels, my ovaries. Full body scan showed no spreading further than what we already knew - Sweet.
It's going to be a long road ahead and I'm taking you all with me. I don't want sympathy, I just want support.
I'm starting with fertility treatment to increase our chances of growing our family then chemotherapy to shrink the size of the tumours so surgery is less invasive, but surgery will come in the near future!
Many years ago my prognosis wouldn't have been good but thanks to research there are huge developments in treatment. If you're reading this, I'm asking that next time you see a fund-raiser for breast cancer or in fact any medical research, donate! Doesn't matter how big or small, every little bit counts! I'm not out of the woods but I feel more relaxed about treatment moving forward!
To those who have already helped us out in one way or another, I can't thank you enough!
Ultimately, I want to raise awareness. I was one of those 'it won't happen to me' people, well fuck. 12 women die from breast and ovarian cancer each day, I sure as hell don't want to be part of that statistic and I don't want anyone else to be either!
Check your boobs, mine are trying to kill me, but I won't go down that easy, I've got too much to live for ❤️
I'm ready for battle 💪"

Our team is participating in the Mother's Day Classic, Sunday 12 May!

Together, we'll be lacing up our running shoes and taking a step forward for women's cancer research, and we'd really love your support!

We're walking the talk and joining the Mother’s Day Classic to help raise funds and awareness to fight breast and ovarian cancers.

Tragically, 12 Australians lose their lives to these awful diseases every day.

Please make a donation today to support our team. There’s only one way to stop breast and ovarian cancers - together!

Thank you for supporting our team.
