SUPPORTING Breast Cancer Research

Honouring Jennifer Kellahan

It’s that time of year again, and for me, it’s a bittersweet rollercoaster of feelings. Stepping into the shops, I’m hit with a wave of sadness — a harsh reminder that my Mum is no longer here. I ache for the simple joys of picking out those cute pamper packs or the Best Mum Mugs, dreams of giving her something special, now just memories. Yet, in this ache, there’s a glow of joy too, as I watch my daughters create handmade gifts and whisper excitedly about the wonderful plans they are dreaming up — their innocent love and effort reminding me of what Mum always stood for.

A few years back, we chose to turn our pain into purpose — honouring Mum by supporting breast cancer research. We walk 5km each year in the Newcastle Mother’s Day Classic, a small act to make a big difference. Mum lost her battle with Breast Cancer in 2015 — a pain that’s still raw after 11 years. Every day, we feel the void her no longer with us but we carry her spirit in every step we take.

Mum was a big supporter of charities, always giving what she could because she believed kindness has the power to change the world. If she were here today, I know she’d be right there beside us, walking together. Her legacy teaches us that even the smallest act of kindness can make the world a better place.

Please join us in honouring her memory. Support our team, Shine Bright 🌟, and help us fight to stop Breast Cancer.
Let’s walk together — for love, for hope, for Mum.

Today, Tomrrow Always in our hearts 🩷

On Sunday 10 May, I'm putting my foot down to save lives.

I’m joining the Mother’s Day Classic to help raise funds and awareness to fight breast and ovarian cancers.

Tragically, every day in Australia 63 people diagnosed and 12 lose their lives to breast or ovarian cancer.

I’m asking you to do more than just stand with me but to support me as I walk, run, and move till we’re done.

Please make a donation today to support my challenge. There’s only one way to stop breast and ovarian cancers - together!

Thank you for your support.

Together the Mother’s Day Classic community has donated...

$48.23 million

Since 1998 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

$2.57 million

Since 2024 to the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation
