SUPPORTING Ovarian Cancer Research
Walking For My Mum ❤️
We are participating in the Mother's Day Classic this year.
In loving memory of my beautiful Mum who lost her battle to Ovarian Cancer in 2015. 😇
Our lives changed forever the day we lost her after years of fighting, and our family has never been the same since.
I'm not walking to raise money for a cure. We all know how much money the government makes off cancer treatments; chemotherapy, radiation and immunotherapy. Not to mention operations, travel, accommodation and scans.
I'm walking to raise money for better detection and a reliable screening test. Unlike breast cancer and cervical cancer, there isn't an early detection test for ovarian cancer.
The only symptoms Mum had for her cancer was a urine infection. After numerous visits to the doctor because it wouldn't go away and having to fight and advocate until something was done, only then did they order CA-125 bloods and an ultrasound.
How many of us women have had a prolonged urine infection, presented to the GP, done a urine test and been told to take some Ural? That's it. Way too many, I'm sure.
Tragically, every day in Australia 63 people are diagnosed and 12 lose their lives to breast or ovarian cancer.
Please make a donation to support our team.
Support my efforts in the 2025 Mother's Day Classic!
On Sunday 11 May, I'm putting my foot down to save lives.
I’m joining the Mother’s Day Classic to help raise funds and awareness to fight breast and ovarian cancers.
Tragically, every day in Australia 63 people diagnosed and 12 lose their lives to breast or ovarian cancer.
I’m asking you to do more than just stand with me but to support me as I walk, run, and move till we’re done.
Please make a donation today to support my challenge. There’s only one way to stop breast and ovarian cancers - together!
Thank you for your support.
