SUPPORTING Breast Cancer Research
Another year, another MDC
Hey Friends,It’s another Mother's Day just around the corner and this year I will be walking with my family. A fun run has always been the aim, but with a naughty tendon in my right foot, I’m taking the opportunity to get my kids involved walking the 5km.
This year I also had my first mammogram. A suggestion from my GP as mum was only 46 when she was first diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer. She had an all clear mammogram in May of 2005, only to experience changes and seek further testing in November where a mass was discovered.
I’m grateful that screening technology has come so far due to research and fundraising over the past 20 years and now the chances of detecting breast cancer in its very early stages has increased dramatically. I’ll be going back every year for a mammogram and ultrasound.
As my kids get older, I look forward to continuing our tradition of honouring Nana on Mother's Day. With such small or no memories of her, it means a lot to speak her name, share her story and think about her every Mother's Day.
Thanks so much for your support! It means the world!
