Become a Host for your 2019 Mother’s Day Classic event and help make Mother’s Day mean more to your community!

Are you a passionate and organised person who is interested in helping to create and deliver a fun, family-friendly community event in your local area? It doesn’t matter who you are and what you do – we are looking for people in your town to take the lead and get involved to help make Mother’s Day mean more and make a difference. Raise funds for life-saving breast cancer research whilst supporting a cause that affects all our community. And we at the MDC will be available to assist and support you every step of the way!

The Women in Super Mother’s Day Classic (MDC) is a national participation walk and run event held in nearly 100 locations across Australia, raising funds and awareness for breast cancer research.

In over two decades we have raised more than $35 million increasing the five-year survival rate for women diagnosed with breast cancer from 76% to 91%. Despite these achievements, women are still dying from breast cancer every day in Australia and we need to change this.

Our goal is to raise $2.1 million in 2019 to continue to fund vital research projects. This research has directly led to improvements in prevention, early diagnosis and treatments.  We must continue to support and remember those touched by breast cancer. But we can’t do it without your support and commitment.

“Women in regional areas are often faced with very different challenges when it comes to being treated for breast cancer. Some of the research projects funded by MDC over the past 21 years have dealt specifically with these difficulties.

Some of our most successful years have been driven by the great support we receive from our regional events. And I expect this year to be no different, or regional events are organised and executed by some of our most passionate volunteers,” Sharon Morris, CEO of MDC Foundation says.

The Mother’s Day Classic provides the opportunity to create an inspiring fundraising event where everyone can get involved.  Regional events can be less formal than the capital city events and can be as simple as a walk in the park and a sausage sizzle with family and friends. Sign up to host your local area NOW!

NOTE: Registration to host an event closes on 22 March 2019 so if it is something you are interested in, please contact our Regional Events Specialists at [email protected]
