SUPPORTING Breast Cancer Research

Team Maria - Tougher than the Rest!

In July 2024, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Since then, I have faced this journey with courage and determination,  undergoing two surgeries, radiation, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and continuing treatment that is still ongoing.

This year, my walk carries even a deeper meaning.

On 15 December 2025, I lost my beautiful mother. She too faced breast cancer with incredible strength, grace, and a never-give-up attitude. I walk in honour of her, her beauty, her resilience, and the fighting spirit she showed every single day. She inspires me to keep going, even on the hardest days.

On 10 May, I will walk in the Mother’s Day Classic in gratitude for the unwavering love and support of my family and friends who have stood beside me throughout this battle. I walk for my mum. I walk for myself. I walk for every woman navigating this difficult journey.

This day is more than just a walk. It is a day of unity, remembrance, strength, and hope, a day where we come together to honour those we have lost and stand beside those still fighting.

I am proud to lead Team Maria, because no matter how tough the road has been, we are tougher than the rest.
