Supporting Breast Cancer Research
Honouring Jennifer Kellahan
Itās that time of year again, and for me, itās a bittersweet rollercoaster of feelings. Stepping into the shops, Iām hit with a wave of sadness ā a harsh reminder that my Mum is no longer here. I ache for the simple joys of picking out those cute pamper packs or the Best Mum Mugs, dreams of giving her something special, now just memories. Yet, in this ache, thereās a glow of joy too, as I watch my daughters create handmade gifts and whisper excitedly about the wonderful plans they are dreaming up ā their innocent love and effort reminding me of what Mum always stood for.
A few years back, we chose to turn our pain into purpose ā honouring Mum by supporting breast cancer research. We walk 5km each year in the Newcastle Motherās Day Classic, a small act to make a big difference. Mum lost her battle with Breast Cancer in 2015 ā a pain thatās still raw after 11 years. Every day, we feel the void her no longer with us but we carry her spirit in every step we take.
Mum was a big supporter of charities, always giving what she could because she believed kindness has the power to change the world. If she were here today, I know sheād be right there beside us, walking together. Her legacy teaches us that even the smallest act of kindness can make the world a better place.
Please join us in honouring her memory. Support our team, Shine Bright š, and help us fight to stop Breast Cancer.
Letās walk together ā for love, for hope, for Mum.

Tragically, every day in Australia 63 people diagnosed and 12 lose their lives to breast or ovarian cancer.
