MDC Move - Meet the Trainers

Name: Mel Warman

Role: Principle Movement Expert

What movement means to you: Movement means I can carry on my Mum's legacy of raising awareness and funds for breast cancer research. It allows me to teach others to love movement too and give them the ability to discover they don't have the limitations they think they do.

Power Song: Daughtry - I'll Fight

Positive Mantra: You can achieve what you imagine

Name: Lisa Sherman

Role: MDC Move Nutritionist

What movement means to you: Movement is an integral part of my life. Being active and moving every day helps me to feel strong, happy and calm, that I can achieve anything I set out to do. If I’m having a low day, feeling a bit tired or have something I need to think through, getting some form or movement, even for a short period of time, lifts my mood and helps me to feel better.

Power Song: Firestarter by The Prodigy

Positive Mantra: Keep going, keep smiling (always makes me smile)

Name: Mike Engelsman

Role: Movement Expert

What movement means to you: Movement is one of the most important things in my day. It doesn't matter if it's a long or a short session, I always feel better afterwards. It's a great time for me to focus on what I'm doing and forget about everything else for a moment. Best way to clear my mind.

Power Song: Sabotage by the Beasty Boys

Positive Mantra: How good is (insert the activity)

Name: Tanya Jeney

Role: Movement Expert

What movement means to you: Movement has made me appreciate my body and what it can do. Movement lifts my mood when I'm grumpy, it gives me energy when I'm tired and it helps me to sleep better at night. I also love that my movement is showing my three sons a) that women are strong and b) that a healthy and active lifestyle is fun.

Power Song: The Greatest by Sia

Positive Mantra: Who can? I can!!

Name: Michael Denny-Smith

Role: MDC Move Physiotherapist

What movement means to you: Movement to me means being able to explore your body's abilities and find fun ways to improve on them. I love helping people find their movement limitations and then helping them expand them.

Power Song: Mr Brightside - The Killers

Positive Mantra: All you can do us give it a go and see what happens.

Name: Laura Hill

Role: MDC Move Women's Health Physiotherapist

What movement means to you: Movement is how I start my day. It is something so integral to how I live my life and I hope to move well forever whilst helping others to do the same.

Power Song: Shake it off - Taylor Swift

Positive Mantra: Just Keep Moving (in the voice of Dory)
