QLD - Roma

We are delighted to announce a Mother's Day Classic Local Location at Roma!
Local locations will be smaller and more informal compared to traditional MDC events, but they will be big on community spirit!

Where: Big Rig Parklands, 2 Riggers Road, Roma

When: Sunday 9th May

Distances: 3km & 7km

Timing:

3km map & directions

  1. Start at the start line (on the road near the toilet block)
  2. Head down Riggers Road onto McDowall Street
  3. Turn Right onto Edwards Street and join the Adungadoo Pathway
  4. Turn right before Bungil Street bridge
  5. Follow Adungadoo Pathway onto Bungil Street heading towards the Touch Fields
  6. Turn around at the checkpoint at Ashburn Road
  7. Turn Left onto Adungadoo Pathway and head for the finish line across the train bridge.

7km map & directions

  1. Start at the start line (on the road near the toilet block)
  2. Head down Riggers Road onto McDowall Street
  3. Turn Right onto Edwards Street and join the Adungadoo Pathway
  4. Follow the path under the bridge and up the hill past Shady’s Lagoon turn around at the Park Run turn around point
  5. Run down the hill past Shady’s lagoon
  6. Proceed onto Bungil Street heading towards the touch fields
  7. Turn left onto Major Street
  8. Turn right on George Street (gravel road)
  9. Turn right onto Tiffin Street
  10. Turn left onto Bungil Street
  11. Turn left onto Ashburn Road
  12. Turn around at the checkpoint at the end of Ashburn Road
  13. Follow Ashburn Road back to Bungil Street
  14. Turn right onto Bungil Street
  15. Join the Adungadoo Pathway
  16. Turn Right to head under the bridge and go up past Shady’s Lagoon
  17. Follow the path under the bridge and up the hill past Shady’s Lagoon and proceed to the ParkRun turn around tree
  18. Run down the hill past Shady’s Lagoon, under the bridge
  19. Turn left under the bridge and then right to bring you to the finish line at the Train Bridge at the Big Rig

Toilets located adjacent to arrival zone.

Fundraising 
On the day you'll be able to donate funds via the collection tins or electronically via the SMS donation number (0488 849 632)

First aid
All MDC Local Locations will have a qualified first aid officer on site. First aid will be located at the location event arrival site.

Food & drink
BYO water in reusable bottles, use any available water dispensers at the site, no water stations will be provided.
Please bring your own snacks and support your local food and beverage businesses on your way to the site and/or on your way home.

Dogs
All dogs/pets must be on leads.

COVIDSafe statement: This event will be conducted in accordance with all COVIDSafe requirements and practices as determined by the state health department. A COVIDSafe checklist/plan has been completed for this event to ensure the safety of all participants.

MDC Local 

While this year will look a little different, you’ll still be able to dress up, complete your walk/run, honour those touched by breast cancer and enjoy the community spirit on the day. All you need to do is bring along your race pack (which will be delivered to your door beforehand), arrive at your assigned time, use your phone to scan the QR code at your location and complete one or two laps of the course. Don’t forget to share your happy snaps and tag #mdc2021!
