Course Information
This is a flat 5km loop course that follows the Stockton foreshore walking track taking in views of the Hunter River, Newcastle Harbour, Nobbys Lighthouse and Stockton Beach.
The course begins to the east of the iconic Stockton Ferry at the end of Mitchell St and curves across the grass and turns eastward towards the ocean. Following the foreshore walking track along Newcastle Harbour past the Lions Park and playground with views of Nobbys Headland and Lighthouse. The course loops back at the metal path divider before the carpark and Stockton Breakwall. Travelling back, you will continue past the ferry terminal along the harbour towards the Stockton boat ramp and Sailing Club with its many resident pelicans. The track continues along the path to the turnaround point just past the Stockton Scout Hall. Return is via the boat ramp and ferry terminal to finish at the start/finish line.
Getting There & Parking
Getting there:
Event village and the start/finish line is at the first picnic hut on the Griffith Park oval - East of Stockton Ferry Wharf.
Driving and parking:
If you are driving, there is a car park directly alonside Griffith Park (Corner of Mitchell st and Wharf Crescent) and free parking in some surrounding streets. Check your maps for locations and the street signs for details.
Getting there by public transport:
The event can be accessed by public transport using Newcastle Ferries that depart from Queens Wharf, Newcastle. Additional ferry services will be running from 7:10am from Queens Wharf. You can also check the various bus routes to Stockton from your location.
Getting there on foot:
Event village is located at Griffith Park Oval - to the east of Stockton Ferry Wharf and the Mitchell St and Wharf Crescent car park.
From the ferry terminal in Stockton turn right and the run start line is at the first picnic hut at Griffith Park oval - east of Stockton Ferry Wharf.
Check In
Head to the check-in and registrations desk, located in the Event Village, from 7am. Each wave closes 15-minutes prior to the start of each wave.
Skip the queue: Check-in early and get your race bib (if you didn't receive it via post), buy some raffle tickets and your MDC Keep Cups prior to the event and avoid the queues on Mother's Day!

Get ready for an action-packed morning full of energy, colour, and community spirit — with plenty to see and do before and after your run or walk!
Registrations and check-in open from 7:00am and close 15 minutes prior to each event wave, with final walkers’ wave to close at 8:45am.
Official proceedings kick off at 7:15am.

Embrace & Honour Moment
Before the 5km run and walk events, we’ll pause at the start line for a minute of silence to embrace and honour those impacted by breast or ovarian cancer. Survivors who wish to are warmly invited to lead us out in the walkers events.

The food and fun will be open from 7am to 10:00am.
