This year, the Mother’s Day Classic is going local! Mother’s Day Classic Local combines the flexibility of a virtual fun-run or walk with the community atmosphere seen at physical Mother’s Day Classic events.
How it works
1. Register yourself or your team
This year you’ll receive a race pack full of goodies, access to our online content and the opportunity to be a part of the incredible MDC community.
2. Set yourself a goal
When you register, set a goal for Mother’s Day Classic Local. You can train for 4km, 8km or choose your own distance. Walk, jog or run, it’s completely up to you!
3. Join the training period
Join our official training period starting on April 7th. You’ll have access to the online portal to track your kilometres, fundraise and enjoy content such as fitness videos and even a kids’ zone.
4. Local locations to be announced
We’ll be inviting all registered participants to walk or run, at no additional cost, at various local locations across Australia. Stay tuned for announcements in April.
5. Get your race pack
You’ll receive a must-have race pack including a medal, backpack, race bib, headscarf, start/finish line ribbon and sponsor goodies. We also have a special race pack for the kids!
6. Celebrate Mother's Day
On Mother’s Day, set out to achieve your goal in your own time and place or at one of our local locations. Honour those touched by breast cancer and remember that you’re making a significant impact by getting active for life-saving breast cancer research.
The ultimate race pack
All participants will receive the ultimate Mother’s Day Classic race pack including a medallion, race bib, backpack, headscarf, start/finish line ribbon and sponsor goodies. We also have a kids race pack with chalk and stencils as well as a pets race pack with a bandana so that every member of the family can join in on the fun!
Get active for cancer research
We’re encouraging Australians to get active for breast cancer this Mother’s Day. You can set yourself a goal to work towards in the lead up to the big day. You will be able to track your kilometres on the portal, get involved in the official training period and share your achievements within the Facebook Group.
