SUPPORTING Ovarian Cancer Research
Remembering our pink ..and teal sisters on Mothers Day.
It's hard to forget so many or our sisters, mums, aunts, grandmas and friends who have succumbed to breast cancer. These days after much research, we have a greater chance of survival. But what about those who have or might oneday have Ovarian Cancer. The statistics are appalling. Horrible. Scary. 1800 women per year. Most in their 50s and 60s. At diagnosis, most have advanced cancer; it has galloped! The 5 year survival rate is 49% Worse than a coin toss! More research funding is desperately needed for Ovarian Cancer.Cancer Survival Requires Research
Research into Breast Cancer has made a profound effect on my survival. Early detection and targeted treatments have made me more confident that I will be around to see family milestones. Our sisters with Ovarian cancer may not be so confident. Symptoms are vague. They are diagnosed far to late. Their treatment pathways lack the confidence that I was offered. Research into Ovarian Cancer is lagging and needs to be boosted. That's why my donations are going towards my Ovarian sisters. On Sunday 10 May, I'm putting my foot down to save lives.
I’m joining the Mother’s Day Classic to help raise funds and awareness to fight breast and ovarian cancers.
Tragically, every day in Australia 63 people diagnosed and 12 lose their lives to breast or ovarian cancer.
I’m asking you to do more than just stand with me but to support me as I walk, run, and move till we’re done.
Please make a donation today to support my challenge. There’s only one way to stop breast and ovarian cancers - together!
Thank you for your support.
